It has come to our attention that two San Fran writers are coming up with a book talking about Barry Bonds. From what I understand is that the main topic is his Steroid use. From the talking about it the thing I find interesting is the notion that the reason why Bonds started using the drugs is because of Big Mac and Sosa homerun duel of 98.
I think if Bonds retired in 98 he would have in the Hall of Fame, but because of some emotion: pride, jealousy, or selfishness (who knows?) he had to complete at the same level of those two, and eventually breaking Big Mac’s record of 70.
A couple of years ago, Jim Rome talked about his Recliner Chair and Big Screen TV in the Giant Clubhouse. Bonds made some sort of comment how his teammates respect him because no one messes with his chair or TV. Rome pointed out correctly that the fact that his teammates didn’t screw with his chair and TV shows the LACK of respect for him. If Bonds was liked or respected in that clubhouse, his teammates would be having loads of fun with his chair and TV.
Also, if Bonds remain healthy this season he could break Aaron’s record for all time HRs. Aaron reportedly is hot around the collar about this possibility. I don’t blame him. For me, the fact that Aaron has his record without the ROIDS make it all that much more impressive. I really hope that Bonds doesn’t break the record.
When Clemen first signed with the Astros some in the media commented on the special deal that Clemens didn’t have to travel with the team always and he could stay home on some of the away trips. The media wondered if this would disrupt the Astros clubhouse. This to me kind of showed me how stupid the media can be at times. First thing Clemens did was call both Bagwell and Biggio and asked them how the clubhouse would react. Both players told Roger not to worry about it. I think it was Bags that said that it wasn’t like Clemens was pushing for the highest dollar, that Roger was retired, and the Astros were trying to lure him out. Bags totally understood! The fact that Clemens called both guys showed me a lot. This is something that Barry Bonds never understood. Bonds may have the all time season record, may end with all time career number, but to me he always be a punk with a big fat head. Not a player that God bless with incredible talent and skll. A talent and skill that any of us would enjoy having. Shame God gave such talent to a putz!
Am I an evil person because the concept of Bonds being hit by a bus (More ironic if it were the Giant’s team bus!) appealing!

Hehe, barry getting hit by a bus, a gaints bus would be ironic. Yes, it’s a mean thought but I agree with you.
Just worries me if a bus can handle hitting bonds, lol.
