I feel like we spent all this money on Carlos Lee, and while he is hitting more than most people in the club, he is not coming through in the “do or die” situations. Most recently the Chicago Cubs game last night. I can also think of a few other situations where there are people on base in the bottom of the ninth with Carlos Lee at bat and he ends the night grounding out.

Yeah, we didn’t pay him $100 mil to hit into double plays. He did that twice last night, once with runners on first and third. Of course last night’s game was weird. When can you the pitcher won the game by hitting. Zambrano’s homer was the deciding factor, and it shouldn’t have been.

I think y’all are being a bit hard. No doubt, Carlos is having a bad week. However, overall, Carlos is hitting with runners in scoring position… .323 with an OPS of .852.

Over a course of a whole season, I would be happy to pay that person 100 million if I were a baseball owner.

I’d hate to use you guys’ board for my 2 cents on every other game. So tell me to stop and I will but, the astros website said it best to last night’s A’s game…HOUSTON — When Roy Oswalt gives up three early runs, Brad Lidge blows a save, Lance Berkman misses a game with a suspension and Carlos Lee and Hunter Pence combine for just one hit, the odds of the Astros winning probably aren’t very high.

Way to go Everett and Ausmus! Carlos Lee…again, what are we paying you for?

That pitcher didn’t seem that good. Like a good high school pitcher to me. Throws a consistant 80mph pitches.

No, no, we don’t mind your comments at all. Heck that’s what this site is all about. Astros via the Fans, it’s all about the fans here. Vent all you want. Actually on some points, I agree with you, although Lambo might not. I was at the game last night, all 11 innings. And I’m sorry there were children around but I let out quite a few expletives when Lidge came out in the 9th. Now, I did cheer when got in front 0-2 on the hitter but Believe it or not, I wasn’t the only one throwing out the BOOs and expletives after that homerun.

Roy Pitched okay and I mean that in a not so good way. He’s been our rock this year and it hurts when we can’t pitch up the expectations. But if there is any player on this team that I’ll give a pass to is Roy because you know he’s be back to form on Sunday.

As for Hunter Pence, he still looks like he’s hurt a bit. I don’t exactly why I think that but he’s not been the same last few games. Carlos Lee… ekkkkk!!! Sometimes he looks so unmotivated out there. Two of the 3 runs Roy “gave” up were because of a shallow fly that Lee could have caught if he hustled.

The thing that really gets me about this team this season is how none of our game aspects are firing on all cylinders at the same time. We hit, but can’t pitch. We get good starting pitch but no run support. We can’t hold a lead or blow a save. Bottom of the lineup can’t push on base to get back to the top. It can be frustrating.

I know Lambo’s going to hate this but our team lacks Consistency!!!!

    Sket,

The night Roy pitched, the play that allowed two runs to score was a fly ball over Hunter Pence. Carlos Lee wasn’t even involved. Are you confusing this with some other night?
