The Astros signed Jose Cruz, Jr. to a minor league contract.

This should appeal to fans since he is the son of an Astro Legend, and the legend still works for the club. Cruz can give us some defensive depth for the outfield since he can play all three positions. Not the hitter he once was, but still has a bit a pop in his bat.

He could be a nice reserve to have on the bench backing up Lee, Bourn, and Pence. If Cruz can’t make the club, we don’t really lose anything since it is just a minor league contract. I do say, it would be nice seeing a jersey with Cruz running around in outfield for the Astros again.
