• Around the MLB, division leaders, wildcard teams, who is in it still and who is not.
• Rant by SKetkar.  How MLB, and the Astros dealt with Hurricane Ike and how unfair it was for a team (Astros) that was so hot at the time to play during a natural disaster and play the Cubs (they suck) in Milwaukee only 90 miles away.  Neutral playing field, right!!!  But the Astros have hung in there are still in the wildcard hunt
• Baseball 101 by SKetkar, not Sketkar 101!  How do you calculate GB stats, that’s Games Behing stats.  With the division and wildcard races heating up, this is a important stat that gets displayed by the sports media.  Basically it’s

• (abs(WinsByTeamA - WinsByTeamB) + abs(LossesByTeamA - LoccesByTeamB)) / 2

  so say TeamA has as record of 86-70 and TeamB has a record of 83-72, the it’s

  (abs(86-83) + abs(70-72)) / 2 = 5 / 2 = 2.5 GB.

  Since TeamA has a better record (percentage points), it’s said that TeamB is 2.5 GB of TeamA, simple right?
