Where is the Part 2 Season Wrap Up?

Enough’s been ignored about the 0-10 furball we coughed up the first night, so I won’t add any less to it. The second night was a closer game and showed we *can* win the close ones if we have to; a sign of some hope.

I took the family to the Sunday afternoon game Big Al’s talking about here. Even within this performance there was the bipolar nature of the team. Backe pitched well, for the most part, and had hit support when we needed it. But there were also plenty of RISP situations Backe let himself get into that show he’s not yet the heir apparent to Roy that Big Al thinks he’ll be. Not saying he won’t be, but until his consistency improves–dramatically–I’ll be seeing a lot more games like this one. By that I mean, thank goodness the Nats *really* stink, because there were enough times in the course of the game that a better team could have easily put us away. We have some work to do, clearly, but there’s some promise in what I saw that weekend. Maybe we’ll be able to build on that so that next year’s visit won’t be such a tossup.

Lambo do you remember 2 shows ago how you were complaining about ESPN’s Central predictions? Unfortunately they are accurately playing out.

Re: The Show – I’m starting to get the humor of some of these voice messages. I didn’t find them very funny at first, but now I can appreciate some of them. Especially the “autobiography” of Ronin.

It is weird to see the astros shy from their strong pitching days. But, Wade was wise to buy offense in the “Buyers Market” so to speak. Some great free agents were there and he took advantage of that. Pitching market was next to nothing and it would be horrible to overpay for mediocre pitching. I think this strong offense is going to help buy some time or have trading power for the next couple seasons to get some key pitching.

While I’m going around the horn. I like seeing Cruz Jr. out there. Hunter Pence needs to get his mojo back. Berkman, Lee, and Tejada are going to be great. Backe also looks great. I hope I don’t speak too soon on that.

p.s.s. Whens the next show?

Sket’s right. You have no idea of the stuff we didn’t play. Also, the ones we did play them mostly for entertainment.

Sad part, there was one call I really wanted to play at first. Someone played our theme music on the flute. It was rather cool. Then the caller starting speaking, and we couldn’t use it.

I personally don’t think the Mitchell report is a lie. Could Mitchell been lied to by a source in the report?

I would believe that before Mitchell lying.

However, Roger didn’t hurt himself with this video, but we have to see what happens after his 60 Minutes interview.

Long story short…I have no problem with it. I agree with Allison Footer that there was no coincidence that they made this Tejada trade days before the report was scheduled to be released.

MLB doesn’t want steroids to end. They are making more money off of it then they ever were. If so why don’t they test everybody every year? Me personally, this is just the evolution of Man, survival for the fittest. I’m also a big Ron Paul guy. – Keep the Government out of our lives. I don’t like the Govt. telling us what we can and can’t put in our bodies or do with our bodies. What a waste of tax dollars making this a Federal Case.

Steroids are not regulated therefore you have people that don’t know how to balance the chemicals…look at Giambi. However when these things are moderated and regulated by professional MD’s, these things make you stronger, run faster, heal faster, increase immunity, all around help you live longer.

Our bodies are made up of chemicals. We inject other chemicals in our bodies for depression, control our ADD, and get ting rid of infections. We use steroids for our noses during allergy season don’t we? If that’s the case where do you draw the line? What about those “greenies” that baseball players were taking in in the 70’s. Do we investigate who took this? If so do take Hank Aaron and Nolan Ryan out of the Hall of Fame if we find them guilty of taking Greenies? If we want a ball organization of all natural abilities then should we regulate vitamins, special protein powders and have them only eat natural foods?

I’ve written enough for a comment but I can talk about this for another 20 paragraphs.

Is Tejada’s skills eroding?

To be fair, he was injured for part of last season, but this is trend over four years.
I am worried about giving up two good young pitchers for him.

I am nervous about Tejada. Also, as much as he is on the trading block, he would be traded by now. Especially, some of the offers rumored. I just don’t think their GM has the B**** to pull it off.

Also regaurding Matsui .. Coors field is not like any other ball park. The ball travels differently in the dry thin air. Once he finds the humidity he will get his mojo and be the dominating player he was when he batted .345 in 2006! He also looked great and very consistant in the post season. That is the biggest problem with the astros is consistancy.

Next to playoff season, post season trad/free agent game is the most exciting part for me.

All we need now is Matzui on 2nd and Tom Glavin and I think we have a world series team.

I think Towles will be the starter. I suspect that Ausmus signing is for two reasons.

A quality back up to Towles.

Also, they want Ausmus to mentor Towles. Who better do you want?

Brad Ausmus will be a manager in the league one day. I thnk this is a good move by the club. Also, Ausmus has stated this will be his last year never less.
